Vintage Soviet "Neva" Mechanical Wristwatch - Collectible Timepiece

Up for sale is a vintage Soviet "Neva" mechanical wristwatch, a rare find from the Petrodvorets Watch Factory (ПЧЗ), also known for producing "Raketa" watches. This watch features a striking black dial with contrasting golden Arabic numerals and hands, a sub-seconds dial, and a chrome-plated case.

History:

The "Neva" watch was produced at the Petrodvorets Watch Factory (ПЧЗ) in the mid-1950s. Production was relatively short-lived, ceasing around 1962. This model is notable for being one of the first to utilize the caliber 2603 movement. This movement was a modified version of the 2602 "Pobeda" caliber, featuring improved shock resistance (a shockproof balance staff system) and an additional jewel for the minute wheel, enhancing reliability and longevity. This caliber later played a significant role in the development of "Raketa" watches.

Condition:

This watch has been serviced by a professional watchmaker and is in good working order, keeping accurate time and running within acceptable parameters. The case, crystal, dial, and back cover show signs of wear consistent with its age. It comes with a new leather strap.
