Description Vintage Poljot 2628.H Soviet Mechanical Watch First Moscow Watch Factory
Vintage Poljot Cushion Case Watch 2628.H — Blue Dial, USSR, 1980s
This is an original Soviet mechanical wristwatch produced by Poljot at the First Moscow Watch Factory (1МЧЗ, USSR) in the 1980s. The watch features a distinctive cushion-shaped case and a deep blue dial with classic Soviet proportions.
Design & Appearance
The cushion-style case gives the watch a strong, period-correct presence typical of late Soviet design. The blue dial has a calm, matte tone that reads clearly under different lighting conditions. Applied silver-tone hour markers provide contrast and warmth, while the red central seconds hand adds a subtle technical accent characteristic of Poljot watches of this era.
The watch is fitted with an original Soviet stainless steel bracelet, contemporary to the watch, which complements the case design and maintains historical authenticity.

Service & Watchmaker’s Note
As a watchmaker, I personally carried out a full professional service on this watch on 19 January 2026. The movement was completely disassembled down to the last component, then thoroughly cleaned, washed, and inspected. All parts were lubricated with correct modern oils, reassembled, and carefully regulated.
All components remain original to the watch. After servicing, the movement runs smoothly, keeps stable time, and is fully ready for daily wear or collection use.
Historical Context
The Poljot caliber 2628.H, introduced in the early 1970s, is one of the most respected Soviet hand-wound movements. It is known for its durability, straightforward construction, and long-term reliability. This caliber became a foundation for many mid- and high-grade Poljot models and remains highly regarded by collectors today.
Condition & Authenticity
The stainless steel case back retains its original serial number, confirming authenticity. The case, dial, and bracelet show honest signs of age consistent with a genuine vintage watch, without compromising functionality or visual appeal.
Photographs
The photographs show the original case back with serial number, the cushion-shaped case profile, the blue dial with red seconds hand, and the original Soviet stainless steel bracelet. All images are of the actual watch offered for sale.
Collector’s Summary
This Poljot 2628.H is a well-preserved example of late Soviet mechanical watchmaking. Its cushion case, blue dial, freshly serviced movement, and original bracelet make it a solid and honest piece for collectors who value authenticity, mechanical integrity, and historical character.
