Slava 2414 · Vintage USSR dress watch, 1970s

Second Moscow Watch Factory · Model 3991957 · Fully serviced May 2026 · Strap not included

Soviet dress watches don't try to impress you. They just work — day after day, decade after decade, with the kind of quiet reliability that comes from a factory that had nothing to prove and every reason to get it right. This Slava 2414 is a good example of exactly that.

The dial is clean white with bold Roman numerals, slim black sword hands, and a fine red seconds hand that cuts through the composition just enough to remind you something mechanical is happening underneath. Date window at 3 o'clock. The chrome-plated brass case sits at a very sensible 36 × 41 mm — slim at 9 mm, nothing aggressive about the proportions. It wears well on a narrow wrist and doesn't fight a shirt cuff.

Movement

The Caliber 2414 is a 21-jewel manual-wind with direct central seconds and a date complication. 18,000 bph, annular Glucydur balance, Russian three-arm shock protection. Straightforward by design — the kind of movement a competent watchmaker can service anywhere in the world, with parts that still exist.

Service

Fully serviced in May 2026: complete disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, fresh lubrication, and timing adjustment. Running accurately. The watch is sold without a strap — 18 mm lug width fits any standard replacement.

Condition

Case shows light wear consistent with age — no deep scratches, no damage. Dial is clean with no fading or spotting. Crystal has minor surface marks typical of acrylic; easily polished if desired. Overall presentation is very good for a fifty-year-old watch.

For whom

A serious option if you collect Soviet watches and want something dressier than a Vostok Komandirskie or a Raketa with a busy dial. Also a solid first mechanical watch — manual winding is a pleasure to learn on, and there's a real story behind what you're wearing. Finding a Slava 2414 in serviced, dial-correct condition is harder than it was a few years ago.
