Text on the card:

"The Internationale" - the revolutionary anthem of the workers of all countries - was born in Paris in the June days of 1871, when the last battles on the barricades of the Paris Commune had just died down. The author of the verses is the poet of the revolutionary proletariat Eugene Potier. The verses were first published in 1887. In early 1888, they were set to music by Pierre Degeyter, a woodcarver.

The song quickly spread around the world and, translated into many languages, including Russian, became the international proletarian anthem. After the victory of the Great October Socialist Revolution, "The Internationale" became the national anthem of the country of the Soviets, and since 1919, on the initiative of V. I. Lenin, the melody of the anthem began to sound from the Spasskaya Tower of the Kremlin.

In 1944, a new national anthem of the USSR was approved. "The Internationale" has been preserved as the anthem of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
